Pronounced 'ol-ee-ow', Olhão is a busy little town, and a fishing port. Olhão is very Portuguese, very Algarvian and very authentic.
The pedestrian shopping area with its cobbled streets wind through the moorish-looking old town to the waterfront with its famous fruit and fish markets, its cafe's and views out over the Ria Formosa lagoons.

From it's pier, you can take a water taxi or ferry to the islands of Armona, Culatra and Farol, and experience their fabulous restaurants and beaches. Olhão is just 10 minutes from Faro airport, and 30 minutes from some of the best golf courses in the Algarve.

Arriving in Olhão by car, there is parking on the nearby seafront, and plenty more just a two minute walk from the Stork’s Nest.
The doors to the house open into a spacious entrance hall, displaying a beautiful array of hand made traditional floor tiles. Bedrooms and their ensuites connect to the left and right of the hallway...

Choose any of the three bedrooms, either double beds or singles - two having their own en-suites. Each one light and airy - cooled in the summer months with ceiling fans, underfloor heated for those cooler winter nights.

The sitting room on the first floor, is a place for relaxing. Cooled with ceiling fans, and warmed by a log fire, it is the perfect spot to play cards, read a good book, enjoy a drink or two, and enjoy an evening meal. Fancy cooking some fish straight from the market ? Then swing open the sitting room doors, light the bbq and sit beneath the stars...
For those who need to stay connected with the outside world, there's high speed internet and a smart tv - but only if you feel the need to.
